You know that feeling when life just hits you — BAM! 💥
It takes your breath away and, for a single moment in time, you just have to stop… dead in your tracks, unable to move because you need to soak in whatever that was?
Yeah…
This happens to me quite often, and I absolutely adore it.
I even have a phrase for it. I like to call them life’s little whispers.
They make me smile because they give me goosebumps. They force me to slow down and be present. They make me feel connected to something greater than myself. They remind me of the people I’ve loved and lost, the places I’ve lived and traveled, memories both past and present, victories and heartbreaks alike — while gently nudging me toward dreams still waiting ahead.
I woke to one of these little life whispers the other morning.
It left me lying in bed with tears of joy because, in this dream, I was visited by my Mom and my Buddy Bear, who passed within two months of one another.
It was the most
beautiful, blessed dream — one that left me overflowing with gratitude for the chance to spend even a few brief moments with my beloved mother and dog again. I had gone to bed carrying a heaviness I couldn’t quite shake and had prayed for things to be okay. This little life whisper made me feel so deeply heard… and so deeply loved.
There’s another detail about this dream I want to share with you because it somehow made the experience even more special.
Two additional figures entered my home alongside Mom and Buddy Bear. As they walked in, I remember saying, “Oh, that’s right… I forgot we gave Buddy to you guys,” as though I knew exactly who they were, welcoming them in without hesitation.
The interesting thing is, their faces were never distinct. When I woke up, I couldn’t place who they were at all. All I knew was that Mom and Buddy — though still appearing older — looked healthy, peaceful, happy, and deeply loved. And somehow, I couldn’t shake the feeling that these two mysteriou
s figures were responsible for bringing them to visit me.
Another part of this little life whisper that filled my heart with joy was that my new dog, Sunny, and my fiancé, Marissa, were there too.
Mom was talking with Marissa as though they had known each other for years, and Sunny was so incredibly gentle with Buddy in his old age — which anyone who knows Sunny knows is hilariously out of character for her.
It warmed my heart watching it all unfold as sunlight poured through the windows behind my mother’s silhouette while we gathered together in the front room.
I rarely have vivid dreams.
But this one?
This one truly felt like one of life’s little whispers. 🌈
